Worcester's acclaimed Hangover Pub is taking its bacon-themed gastro pub on the road with the help of their friends for a "Way of Life" tour this fall. And they're donating proceeds of the Portland Maine event at the O'Maine Studios & Media Kitchen on October 28th to two charities: F.I.G.H.T. and Operation HOPE. Now that we've placed over 200 people into Operation HOPE and celebrated our one year anniversary on 10/1, we have a lot of thank you's to pass around!
First, thank you to our employees who've embraced our “thinking outside the box” approach to doing SOMETHING to help. When we first started we said if we could save one or two lives it would be worth it. We never expected it to become what it has.
Thank you to Steve, Niki, Bridget, Krista and Nancy at Portland Recovery Community Center for all your help! Steve is our Substance Use Disorder guru and we would not operate without his endless support.
Thank you to every volunteer "Angel" past and present for your help in getting us to where we are today. We couldn't operate without PRCC, and we definitely could not operate without our amazing volunteers. I hope each of you are proud of the work you've accomplished.
And of course, thank you to every treatment center who has stepped up to assist us in helping Mainers in need. Two thirds of those coming in for help do not have any health insurance coverage. They have nowhere to turn, or face months-long wait lists for the limited Maine facilities. It's humbling to partner with so many facilities who see our needs and have been willing to say, "I will help".
We can't thank you enough for assisting us in saving Mainers' lives!
