Today we are happy to share that we've just placed our 250th Mainer into drug treatment through Operation HOPE Maine at Scarborough PD. We are humbled and honored to be able to help some of those struggling in Maine’s opiate crisis, and to give 250 Mainers a chance at reclaiming their lives.
While we are pleased to have played a small role in helping these courageous people seek recovery, we also know that our fellow Mainers continue to die from Substance Use Disorder at an alarming rate. We aren't the answer to this health crisis, but we will do what we can for as long as we can until treatment becomes available in this state without wait.
THANK YOU to all our police department employees who've assisted with the program, and to our volunteers, treatment providers, and donors who continue to support our efforts. Special thanks to Portland Recovery Community Center and Milestone Foundation for all your help along the way. We are grateful to every person and organization who played a part in getting us to where we are today.
If you're a Mainer over 18 struggling with an opiate addiction we may be able to assist you with a treatment path, regardless of insurance coverage. Walk-in times are Monday-Friday, 7am-noon at Scarborough Police Department. You do not need to call ahead or make appointments, just walk in when YOU are ready.
